  • Star Racing Personnel Changes: Simmons New 450 Team Manager, Troxell New 450 Crew Chief
Anaheim, CA Anaheim 1 (A1)Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship

Breaking news on the morning of Anaheim 1 Supercross opener as Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing has released an announcement on team personnel. Rich Simmons has been promoted to 450 Team Manager, replacing Jeremy Coker, who departed the team and moved to Triumph Racing. Yamaha also announced Jordan Troxell as the team's 450 Crew Chief. Troxell had been a member of the Honda HRC Progressive team for the last handful of years.

The following press release is from Yamaha:

Simmons Promoted to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team Manager

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing announces Rich Simmons as the 450 Team Manager and Jordan Troxell as its crew chief

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team is excited to announce that Rich Simmons will move up to the team manager role. The team’s former crew chief brings with him a wealth of experience as he enters his fourth season with the championship-winning 450 program. Jordan Troxell joins the team in 2025 to fill the crew chief role, and also brings with him a wealth of experience in the sport.

Brad Hoffman – Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing Team Principal

“It was a natural fit to have Rich as our team manager. In addition to his experience and championship-proven success, he knows our guys and will be great in that role. We’re also happy to have Jordan on board to assume Rich’s former position as crew chief. We’re really excited for the 2025 SMX season.”

Rich Simmons – Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team Manager

“I’ve been with the team for three seasons as the crew chief, and I enjoyed that. I’m honored that Brad gave me the opportunity to step up into this role as the team manager. It’s a new challenge, but I’m looking forward to it. I’ve worked with Jordan in the past, so when looking for somebody to move into my role that would fit the team really well, he’s the first one that came to mind. I really trust his work and know his work ethic, and I think he’s a great asset to the team.”

Jordan Troxell – Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team Crew Chief

“I’m very excited to join the team. Rich Simmons gave me a call when things moved around over there and presented me with a great opportunity that I had to really consider and couldn’t turn down. It’s one of the best teams in the paddock, with some of the best riders on the track and I know these boys pretty well. I’m also looking forward to getting back to the East Coast, and I’m just excited to bring my work ethic over here and to try and add to the program.”
