Welcome to the Race Day Feed, coming to you from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. From practice reports to the blow-by-blow from tonight’s program, you’ll find it all right here on the Racer X Race Day Feed. Updates are posted in chronological order, so be sure to scroll down for the latest info. For even more updates be sure to follow us on X (formerly “Twitter”): @Racerxonline.

Notes Ahead of Race Day

Round four should set us up for an exciting day of racing. The championship favorites are starting to emerge, and we have our first of three Triple Crown events of the season. The three-race format takes away the heats and the main event and we run three shorter races to determine the overall winner on the night (the rider with the lowest total points). Throw in the SMX Next - Supercross (formerly named SX Futures) amateur event and the track will be hot with important racing throughout the entire night show.

While it was Haiden Deegan who won last weekend in California, Julien Beaumer enters today's fourth round with the 250SX West points lead. Beaumer rode with the red plates on his KTM 250 SX-F for the first time at the Anaheim 2 SX and while he and Deegan had a run in during their heat race that put the #23 on the ground, Beaumer took a solid second in the main event, allowing him to leave with the points lead for the second-straight week. Arizona native Beaumer will look to perform well at his home race as Deegan and third in points Jordon Smith look to make up some points on the Red Bull KTM rider.

Garrett Marchbanks (250SX) is making his return after missing last weekend with a shoulder injury. Jorge Prado (450SX) is out for the remainder of supercross due to surgery needed to fix his dislocated shoulder. Read out full injury report or watch the video below for more injury updates.

Ken Roczen enters the day with the 450SX points lead with the first time since 2022. Roczen has done well at Glendale in the past, picking up the win here in 2024 and winning the 2020 Triple Crown here with 1-1-1 finishes to earn the first-ever 450SX sweep. But, Eli Tomac has also done well here AND Tomac is historically the best rider when it comes to the three-race Triple Crown format. Tomac won the 2022 Glendale SX Triple Crown here at State Farm Stadium AND his eight overall wins in Triple Crowns leads the 450SX Class. Jett Lawrence and Chase Sexton will be hungry for a shot at race wins and the overall tonight, so you cannot count them out, nor Cooper Webb or Jason Anderson. And oddly enough Tomac (eight overall wins in this format) and Webb (four overall wins in this format) are the only repeat Triple Crown winners in the 17 Triple Crown events to date!

(Click the images below to make sure you see the full stats!)

In the 17 Triple Crown #Supercross events to date, there have been:
450SX:
7 different overall, 9 different race winners
Tomac's 8 OA wins leads class

250SX
12 different overall, 22 different race winners
Forkner and Kitchen lead class with 3 OA wins each #SXHistory #SX2025 pic.twitter.com/EdvDhoM4xg

Morning Report

This track is known for dry, slick desert conditions but during yesterday's press day and this morning's track walk it looked soft and tacky. That won't last forever but it might be a little better than expected during the night show. This track features some long lanes and lots of 180 turns, which means the opportunity to go big in the rhythm lanes.

Garrett Marchbanks told us a week of therapy went a long way toward making his dislocated shoulder feel better, and he simply could not stomach sitting on the couch another weekend, so he asked the team if he could ride Thursday. He did and he felt good so he's racing. He thinks the shorter races might actually be better for his shoulder, which could get fatigued as the laps unfold.

Also Honda HRC Team Manager Lars Lindstrom says Jo Shimoda visited Doc G's office all week and witnessed a big drop in the swelling in his broken fingers. He still can't ride during the week, but the injury is feeling much better.

Malcolm Stewart is getting better and better after taking a big hit in his Anaheim 1 heat race, he's confident he'll be around the top five soon. Aaron Plessinger has had terrible results the last two weeks but he says he feels he's riding well, and in fact this week is as good as he as ever felt, he says. Cooper Webb spent the week testing at Yamaha's California test track to try to find a better setup for dry, slick tracks. He knows he's struggled here in the past but needs to fix that. He says this is the first time he's made any real bike changes in nearly a year.

For more updates be sure to check out our First Look: Glendale Press Day and The Weege Show.

First Practices

in free practice Garrett Marchbanks showed no signs of his shoulder injury by jumping to the top early, later in the sessions Haiden Deegan jumped to the top, and then it was Cole Davies. At the end Juju Beaumer logged a 1:02 to take over the top spot as the checkers flew, with Davies and Jordon Smith next, then Deegan and Drew Adams.

The 450 session was fun to watch, with Eli Tomac fastest early, then Jason Anderson took over the top of the board. Chase Sexton logged a heater to take P1, then Tomac got it back! Jett Lawrence tried to uncork a fast one but ran into some yellow flags for downed riders. Ken Roczen ended up second, which is impressive since Ken usually doesn't do his best work in qualifying. Ken is great at Glendale!

SX Futures hit the track and Alex Fedorstov was fastest early, then Landon Gibson took over the top spot. Landon Gordon, Caden Dudney and Enzo Temmerman rounded out the top times.

Second Practices

The worst news out of SMX Next -- Supercross practice was Kristin Janik going down hard over a tough tabletop rhythm section. Not sure the injury but he was down hard.

In 250s, Jordon Smith was on top early then Haiden Deegan took it over. Drew Adams went down in a rhythm and had to be attended to by the alpinestars medics. Juju Beaumer took it over late and held on. Then it was Deegan Davies and Drew Adams top 5….but then Adams went down. It looked like he landed on his shoulder, perhaps, and he had to be attended to by the Alpinestars medic team. That's a bummer for the rookie, we'll get an update on his health as soon as possible.

Ken Roczen is spicy today, a rare day of him in the mix in qualifying, he was first and then second on the board at one points but ended up fourth. Justin Hill even had a moment at the top of the board also. Eli Tomac led early then Sexton took it away at one point, then Jett Lawrence threw down a mega lap and led by .9 seconds. On the final lap Sexton answered and nearly matched it, only off by 4 hundredths of a second. Webb, also not known as a qualifier, jumped to third late which is a good sign for him.

Update on Drew Adams

Report from the pits: Drew Adams expected to have broken collarbone.

Tough deal for Kawasaki. After Garrett Marchbanks missed last weekend with a shoulder injury and Ty Masterpool is sidelined with broken fingers, Drew Adams made his pro supercross debut last weekend, finishing a solid eighth.

Unfortunately, Adams suffered a crash during the first qualifying session today in Glendale, Arizona. He was carted off on the Alpinestars medical cart.

According to a report by Haley Shanley on the Race Day Live qualifying broadcast, it sounds like Adams has a broken collarbone.

Drew Adams is out for the remainder of today's 250SX West racing after crashing and injuring his collarbone.

Final Practice

Beaumer crushed it in this one to take top qualifying time, and the fans on hand were happy to see it for the Arizona native.

The 450s put on a show as Justin Hill busted out the huge triple near the start straight, and then Ken Roczen followed. Yeah, we told you Roczen is spicy today! That's a big jump and Roczen at one point went to P1, but scrubbing hard across the top of a smaller triple and singling out still has its merits. That's what Jett Lawrence, Sexton and Tomac did and they ended up on top anyway.

Justin Barcia just made the cut, Triple Crown format means you have to be top 18 in speed or you're in the LCQ. Barcia was 18th!

LCQs

250SX

The 250SX LCQ dropped the gates, and it was Billy Laninovich and TJ Albright out front early on. Eventually, Lux Turner would make a few passes and take the race win, as Laninovich, Albright, and Brad West would take the remaining three transfer spots. Nico Koch was battling West for the fourth spot and had a pass on the inside turn after the whoops, but he slid out and lost his opportunity to transfer. Turner earned $1,000 from the privateer payout and it was doubled to $2,000 after he won the LCQ. Marshal Weltin came up just short in fifth.

450SX

The gates dropped on the 450SX LCQ and it was Fredrik Noren with the early lead, until he crashed out on the opening lap! He got up favorite his wright arm and was later seen having the Alpinestars medical crew put his shoulder back in place after he landed hard into the face of a jump with his arm extended.... Ouch. Out front, Anthony Rodriguez had a little bit of pressure by Colt Nichols, although both were cautious not to make a stupid mistake. The two finished out front as Partzilla  Kawasaki teammates Mitchell Harrison and Cade Clason took the final two transfer spots, Clason doing so with a last-turn pass on Hunter Schlosser. Now, the 450SX Triple Crown race line ups are set. Turn in shortly for the night show.

Night Show

250SX Triple Crown Race 1

The night show got underway, and it was time to get right into the racing here in the three-race Triple crown format. The gates dropped on the first race of the night, and it was hometown boy Julien Beaumer with the holeshot! Unfortunately, things went wrong for Beaumer in the turn after the whoops when he hit a slick spot in the right-hand, 180-degree berm and washed his front end! Beaumer and his bike caused a huge congestion, tallying at least ten riders, including but not limited to, Jo Shimoda, Anthony Bourdon, Marshal Weltin, Gavin Towers, Derek Kelley, Dylan Walsh, and more. Cole Davies snuck by, going from P2 into the race lead as Jordon Smith took over second place. Shimoda had to pit early and officially scored 21st in the race, which is a tough blow to start the night. Davies would take the race win over Smith, then Haiden Deegan, who had a crash on his own he had to fight back from. Beaumer came through fourth ahead of Garrett Marchbanks.

450SX Triple Crown Race 1

After the chaotic start to the night show in the 250SX Triple Crown race, it was time for 450SX gate drop numero uno. The gates went down, and it was Cooper Webb with the early race lead! Malcolm Stewart was in second as riders shuffled around on the track. Early on, Jett Lawrence was fourth, Chase Sexton was fifth, Ken Roczen was seventh, and Eli Tomac was 14th. Hunter Lawrence got up to third before his brother took positions away from both him and Stewart, as the #1 moved into P2. Roczen charged up to third himself and then had pressure from a charging Sexton. Roczen had a really good line in the turn before the whoops, which seemed really fast. He used that line to get around Hunter Lawrence, and then out of nowhere, Sexton came flying past the #96 in the entry of the sand turn by the mechanics' area! Out front, Webb held off a charging Jett Lawrence, who tried one last-ditch effort pass in the final turn but slide his rear end around after giving it too much throttle. That allowed Webb to take the race win by over 2.5 seconds. J. Lawrence, Sexton, Roczen, and H. Lawrence rounded out the top five as Tomac came through sixth after a late pass on Stewart.

250SX Triple Crown Race 2

After a huge mistake while leading the first race, Julien Beaumer got into the lead exiting the first turn, but he made another huge mistake and went down AGAIN going into the first rhythm section! Definitely not the night the Arizona native had imagined. He remounted in dead last. Once again, Cole Davies snuck by and took over the race lead! Davies was challenged by Haiden Deegan but eventually got some breathing room and took the race win! Deegan bested Mosiman to take second and Jordon Smith blasted around Mosiman too to take third, with Mosiman taking fourth. Anthony Bourdon came through fifth. Jo Shimoda, 21st in the first race, was sixth and then Beaumer was seventh.

Cole Davies goes two-for-two to start the night in 250SX! It's been a Yamaha checkered flag party so far.

SMX Next – Supercross Main Event

The gates dropped and it was Landen Gordon with the lead exiting the second turn but he had some company from Landon Hartz and Dayton Briggs. However, Gordon pulled back up into the lead. Unfortunately, Jeremy Fappani went down in the sand section, which caused the race to be red flagged. Fappani was taken off the course on a the Alpinestars medical cart with a soft next brace on.

The race was restarted via a staggered restart, with Landen Gordon and Landon Hartz out front. Enzo Temmerman charged up to second place but Gordon was not touched out front and took the race win. Leum Oehlhof took fourth and Alex Fedortsov took fifth in an exciting race from start to finish.

450SX Triple Crown Race 3

In the start of the third and final 450SX race of the night, Jett Lawrence dabbed his knee in the second turn (the right-hander) and immediately knew something was wrong, pulling off the track. He rode one lap slowly around the outside of the track and then rode straight up the tunnel and to the Alpinestars medical truck, ending his race early.

Out front it was Eli Tomac, who finally got a good start, vs Chase Sexton. Sexton was pushing hard but Tomac fended off his competitor and pulled a slight gap. Tomac would eventually take the race win as Sexton came through second and Cooper Webb charged to a third-place finish. Hunter Lawrence and Ken Roczen rounded out the top five.

Chase Sexton's 3-3-2 finishes gave him the overall win and he will now leave with the points lead! Sexton becomes the first two-time winner in the 450SX Class.
